It’s funny how people see me and treat me, since I’m really just a simple, boring person.
The Station Agent (2003)kötre
Brenda Holloway “I Prayed For A Boy Like You” (1966, Unreleased. From Anthology, 2005).
Forever Motown’s queen of the basement, it still amazes how productive Brenda Holloway was in her short tenure at Motown between 1964 through 1967. For every single she released, it seems she recorded 10 songs.
Which rewards us with a surplus of goodies even today. Tonight we have her in one of her round robin stints in Detroit where she tried on the clothes of many writers and producers ideas in search for that mystical next single. This Stevie Wonder/Clarence Paul written and produced number was never intended to see the light of day. Pity.
